I had an idea of creating a piece where elements of it are decided by chance. The technique I decided on was rolling a pair of die, and somehow making use of the numbers generated. Before starting anything however, I had to establish rules, and have some form of a plan as to what the finished article would look like!

I’ve recently discovered a fondness for the humble circuit board. Yes, that’s possibly one of the stranger statements you’ll read this year. But there’s something very interesting about these perfect lines connecting elements together in a uniform, functional manner.
I wanted to explore this a little further with my camera, so it was off to eBay to purchase a job lot of old boards…

It seems that the Faceless LED Watch – designed by Hiranao Tsuboi of 100% – has entered mass production.

The watch was originally produced as a one-off for Tokyo Design Week 2008, where it created some considerable demand for itself.
