First shots with my Digital SLR

I picked up my first DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex Camera) last summer. I opted for a Nikon D60, and very much enjoy using it, although I’m still getting to grips with the different settings! Here are some of the best shots I’ve taken since the purchase.

One of the main draws in buying a DSLR for me, was the chance to adjust the shutter speed and – using a tripod – taking long exposures, especially night scenes! These were taken on a bridge above the M40. Definitely would like to go and try some more soon.

By contrast, a quick shutter speed can be used for action shots, such as these from Towcester Racecourse. Extra challenge was dealt from the fading sunlight as the day progressed.
